Brief
Private developer client with an existing portfolio of hotels and serviced apartment brands required a yield of 80 plus rooms on this site with a maximum height restriction.
"apt" Solution
We designed a six storey facility and achieved desired spatial yield with active involvement of developer. We also worked closely with City of Ballarat planning officers to achieve the desired urban design outcomes. Planning approval, following a robust assessment process was coordinated by town planning consultant Beveridge Williams, Ballarat.
The architecture is respectful of the heritage character of its neighbourhood - with a predominant brick façade with some Australian colorbond cladding and timber expressions at the upper storeys (setback from street frontage). Side and rear walls are neutral white with rhythmic fenestrations typical to Hotel typology.
